TheUnrulyGaffer and company made a trip out to Phoenix Landing for the USA-Honduras WC qualifier this past Saturday night. I was told good things about the atmosphere for big matches prior to our arrival, but was disappointed with the turnout for such a crucial game. If it wasn't for the 'Gaffer and friends, the support could have fallen to a pedestrian level. Luckily, we were there to lift spirits and lead the chants. I could blame the poor turn out on the Scouser base that is said to reside at the Landing, but I wont go there.
That being said, Carlsberg on tap was a huge plus. Plenty of TV's with two large projections at either end allowed for excellent viewing from any area. Service was great. Chalk up the atmosphere to an off night this time. Worth another look.
